Mangyan Immersion

Last December 9, we went to Oriental Mindoro as a requirement for our BLF Class (Benedictine Lay Formation), the counterpart of CWTS or NSTP for other universities & colleges. Slept inside a kubo, bathe in a water faucet straight from the mountains, ate with banana leaves and lived for 6 days without electricity.

I enjoyed every moment there and the day we went back to the city, each one of us wanted to go back in the place with simple life where your only problem is what to eat and what time to cook.

Waking up at around 6AM even without alarm clock, thinking that we still have to cook breakfast then lunch for our Mangyan families. Cooking that early is much better with the long process of preparing coals to picking up banana leaves. 6PM, all we have to do is eat then free time. Some are playing cards, others are getting ready to sleep and other things just to kill time.

Off to the mountains! 2-hour jeep ride :-\

We arrived just in time to prepare for lunch/dinner @ 3PM

Usual scenario during breakfast.

Lunch time with our Mangyan family :)

Unfortunate evening for me. My legs went down which gave me 3 bruises :|

Muddy roads. Mountains. Bright sky. <3

Packing our bags with plastic to be safe ;-)

I miss everything.
